The Xerox 5018 was a very affordable copier that represents the standard of copy quality and reliability in its class. Microcomputercontrolled operations ensure maximum uptime, the highest copy quality, and the power to engage multiple features while maintaining a rated speed of 18 copies per minute.
Designed for more modest copying volumes or as a convenience copier in large offices, the 5018 provides an exceptional range of features and ease of use. The innovation of customerreplaceable copy cartridges reduces needed service calls. The 5018 copies originals ranging in size from 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 to 11 x 17" and accommodates many paper sizes and weights, including colored and pre-drilled stock, transparencies and mailing labels. Lengthy jobs can run uninterrupted by programming the 5018 to switch between three paper trays. The 5018Z model offers enlargement and reduction from 64%to 156 %, while a sensor measures throughput paper size and chooses the correct reduction or enlargement setting to fit the image to the paper size. A fully configured model has a 40-sheet automatic document feeder, a 10-bin sorter, and a 20-sheet bypass.21 copies a minute.
Oh my god! This is a “thing”! Doing what I do best is falling into the internet rabbit hole. It all started with a YouTube video on how to run stepper motors silently by using a specific stepper motor driver and posting a comment of my beloved 5328 Xerox copier that I loved working on. I commented that I was floored with the 5328’s because they were much quieter. Every headache the 5028’s gave customers were addressed in the 5328 (remember those ADF rollers in the 5028’s? The 5018/28/34 was my first product when I joined Xerox in 1992.

I assume that the Xerox 5018 does not contain a hard drive or store any scanned info?
If it did, you could have ruled the world back in 1989!
